Gillian Anderson to quit UK
Wednesday, 19 November 2008
The 'X-Files' actress has been based in London with partner Mark Griffiths and their children - one-month-old Felix, two-year-old Oscar and 14-year-old Piper, Gillian's daughter from her marriage to Clyde Klotz - but is now considering returning to her homeland following Barack Obama's election as US President.
A source close to the 40-year-old star revealed to Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "Gillian has enjoyed living in London in recent years but made it clear she'd consider moving back to the US if Obama won.
"Now that Obama's heading for the White House, she feels she could bring up her children in the kind of America she wants them to experience, rather than a country run by current President George Bush."
Gillian quit Hollywood for the UK when 'The X-Files' TV show ended in 2002.
She recently revealed the move helped her enjoy a diverse professional life and allowed her to raise her children with more privacy.
She said: "By moving to London, I removed myself from the madness of the entertainment industry. I love the city, the culture, and the opportunity to bring my children up in a more sane environment.
"One of the great things about living in Europe is that there's no stigma about jumping between different media - I get to do film, theatre and, occasionally, television."
